Dear writer, Reluctant Notepad offers a very basic text file editor across the spectrum of Windows 10 devices. The motivations for publishing this text editor are: * Text files of medium size can be edited with tolerable performance. Beyond a certain threshold (over approximately 10,594 lines or 364 KB), other native text editors that support the spectrum of Windows 10 devices tend to experience excessive processor usage and input latency, or display invisible lines of text for the remainder of the document, and the situation does not seem to have improved over several years. Instead, Reluctant Notepad provides a text editing experience that is based on the EdgeHTML web browsing engine. * Special support for multi-user platforms such as Xbox One, which allows the text editor to remain open while switching among multiple users or while signed out. For questions and support, please contact me via the Xbox network at gamertag: cubeof11 Thanks; cubeof11
What’s new in this version
This version is a basic port of the original web application. Notable limitations include: * Drafts are not automatically saved. * Saved files are encoded as UTF-8 without a byte-order mark. * File extensions while saving are limited to '.txt'.
- Open, edit, and save plain text files of medium size.
- Edit cooperatively with multiple local users signed in on the same device.
